Joining us at #FirestoneGP? Here’s the 411 on where to sit.
Choosing where to sit can be exciting yet confusing, especially for new fans. Whether it’s a Grandstand seat or a General Admission ticket, there are a lot of choices at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding! Don’t worry, we’re here to guide you through the viewing options and vantage points with expert advice.
Fast Facts
Grandstand seating on the event grounds are categorized by two tiers: Upper and Lower rows.
Did You Know?
The most desirable seats in auto racing are typically the ones located HIGHEST up in the grandstands. Upper row seats allow for the best perspective and longest view of the race track.
Reserved Seating
Grandstands 3 through 7
There’s a lot to see from these seats! These grandstands extend all the way from Pit In (Grandstand 3) to Pit Out (Grandstand 7), and if you’re in Grandstand 4, right in front is the Start/Finish line. Watch the incredibly quick pit stops from above and get a clear view of Turn 14 to Turn 1. Make sure to wear sunscreen! This is one of the sunniest spots at the track.
Turn 1 Grandstand
There is nothing like watching Indy cars taking the very first turn of Lap 1. With a view of the cars coming off a high-speed straightaway then into Turn 1, this is the place for most intense level of action on the track with lots of passing. Fans sitting in these seats will also get a view of Pit Out and the north side of this stand will get the last look of the cars as they peel into Turn 2.
Turn 10 Grandstand
The heart of the action and the event is found at Turn 10. No one really knows what will happen when the Indy cars make their way towards Turn 10, where this grandstand resides. Will there be passing? Will someone overshoot and skid into the runoff area? Only time will tell. Sit on the west side of the Turn 10 Grandstand to get the best view of the cars approaching the turn as they go down Bay Shore Drive.
General Admission
Horse Solider Bourbon Waterside Club
How many race tracks let you watch from the water? This bar area looks exclusive, but it is actually open to everyone! Have a couple cold beverages while mingling with other #FirestoneGP fans and watch Turns 11 and 12 from the Tampa Bay.
Stella Artois Party Pit
A General Admission fan favorite place to watch the race from! Watch Pit In from this, literal, trackside beer garden. The Stella Artois Party Pit is an unobstructed general admission viewing area.
Pioneer Park
A great place to get some shade and watch as drivers take on Turns 7-9 before accelerating down the long straightaway towards Turn 10. Bringing little ones to the race? The Speed Zone is in walking distance for food, entertainment and maybe even some free giveaways.
Mahaffey Theater Courtyard
This is another great location in the center of the event and a view of the picturesque waterfront setting. It has access to food and is near the race car paddocks also known as “the locker room of motorsports.” See the cars at speed as they hit the braking zone on Bay Shore Dr. before taking a 90-degree left at Turn 10.
Hospitality
Individual VIP Club
The VIP Club Hospitality suites provide fans with an exceptional experience all weekend long. Situated trackside above pit lane, these suites include furnished, deluxe interiors with in-seat dining ledges with tiered seating. There is also a hosting area towards the top of the suite; an ideal spot for anyone looking to converse and host people.
